DSM is looking for a superstar Teacher to teach the 3-6 group at our Norwood Pre-school school to start in January 2023 This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic teacher to empower students using an Montessori's independent learning approach and to be a part of an innovative network of schools.

About the Role:
We are looking for a Teacher to teach the 3-6 group.

Key responsibilities for the role include:

  • A sound understanding of, and passion for the Montessori philosophy
  • Paediatric First Aid Training
  • Police Clearance Certificate
  • Willingness to supplement, enrich and support our current programme
  • Experience in a Montessori preschool or primary classroom
  • Montessori 36 training
  • A love of children
  • A calm, warm, cheerful, energetic disposition
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Kind and gentle, upholding the commandments of Dr Maria Montessori in all interactions with children
  • BEd or other relevant degree and PGCE (applicants with this will be favoured)

Self-driven with organisational and classroom management skills:

  • Computer literate
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A thorough understanding of the developmental and holistic needs of preprimary aged children
  • Knowledge/experience of environmental matters and sustainability is important.

  • You have a deep understanding of children and you know how to connect with the specific age group that you teach

  • You are able to work within a teambased environment and collaborate with other resident teachers, apprentice teachers and deans
  • You communicate openly and effectively with your colleagues
  • You are adept at using technology for instruction

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid Police Clearance (no older than 6 months)
  • ID Copy / Passport
  • Work Permit (if applicable)
  • SACE certificate
