Spandex Business Reporting & Data Analytics is in its early stages. The Graduate Data Analyst would be working to grow and accelerate a new and important capability for Spandex.


Initial responsibilities will be in building the data integration from the Spandex Business Systems to the Data Warehouse using Azure Data Factory and Azure SQL.

This ability to access all relevant business data organised in a logical data model for reporting and analytics is critical for the business.

Good data integration will enable key business reports to be produced in an accelerated timeframe. This clean data will also support initiatives in advanced analytics, data management, data quality and data migration.

  • Azure SQL (SQL Server)
  • Azure Data Factory
  • Python (data exploration, visualization and advanced analytics)
  • Power BI (report and dashboard writing)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works in the data analytics team to implement the BI and advanced data analytics strategy and architecture.
  • Partners with stakeholders, process specialists, and users to elicit and document business requirements
  • Partners with business teams to define and document business requirements for new metrics and reports
  • Designs, develops, and maintains reports and analytical tools
  • Performs ongoing monitoring and refinement of reports
  • Provides technical support for existing reports, dashboards, or other tools
  • Identifies and analyses errors and inconsistencies in the data and provides timely resolutions
  • Translates data results into written reports, tables, graphs and charts to convey information to management
  • Creates written communication materials that effectively summarize findings and support recommendations
  • Creates ad hoc reports and views on a frequent basis to assist management in understanding, researching and analysing issues
  • Teaches and advocates the use of business intelligence and advanced analytics tools across levels of the organization
  • Researches and keeps up to date with current trends in data analytics and modern technologies and methods for data analytics and applies these in role when relevant

  • Any previous experience in data warehousing and scripting using SQL
  • Knowledge and experience using scripting languages Python or R is desirable but not essential.
  • Report writing using Power BI or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new tools and capabilities as required
  • Strong project management and organizational skills

Qualifications and Experience:


Graduate with a 2:1 degree or equivalent data analytics/ data science qualification or at least one year experience in a relevant field.

Has a proven analytical skillset.

Salary:
R33, R55,000.00 per month
