Production Administrator/planner

Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa Spec Systems Full time

Only EXPERIENCED Production administrators will be considered. Experience in the printing industry a big plus. Must be able to start immediately for a 3 month contract, with the possibility to be extended.

General Summary:


Administration and control of the manufacturing admin processes of Spec Systems, ensuring maximum profitability for shareholders and a positive, motivated environment for staff and customers.


DETAILS OF FUNCTION:

  • Complete manufacturing admin processes including ordering, receiving, issuing, planning, costing and grv up to handover to dispatch.
  • Ensure quality of jobs, both onpress and in production.
  • Conduct as required, raw material stock counts, resolving differences to ensure that physical stock matches financial system.
  • Manage stock level requirements for Key Accounts, raw material and packaging consumables for manufacturing, in line with Min/Max policies.
  • Conduct daily meetings with the Production Manager / Branch Manager to identify issues and advise when necessary.
  • Assist in reporting and resolving facility & infrastructure (Machine breakdowns, Material failures etc.) issues.
  • Regularly meet with the Production Manager / Branch Manager to ensure effectiveness of planning and supply of on time, in full and correct orders. With the view of minimizing waste and achieving maximum utilization of assets in an efficient and costeffective manner.
  • Ensure the manufacturing department adheres to ISO 22000 standards and Health and safety regulations, with the ultimate goal of maximizing customer satisfaction in a safe working environment for all stake holders and ensuring Food Safety.
  • Contribute to achieving an ethical, disciplined, quality focused, productive environment.
  • Teamwork across departments (admin, operations and sales).
  • Report on Manufacturing lead times, utilization, waste, down time and planning.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 years related production planning experience
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem solving; ability to determine solutions for customers.
  • Must be results orientated, customer focused and be able to work within a team environment.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent Math Skills.
  • Experience in flexographic printing is essential.
  • Excellent organizational skills
