POSITION PURPOSE
To ensure the overall efficient running of the Stores, ensuring that inventory, stock control, raw materials, and despatch of goods are effectively organised and implemented

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensure that raw materials are available when needed by production
  • Responsible for the inventory control of raw materials
  • Responsible for managing outwork and monitoring the amount of outwork
  • Responsible for preparing the materials management budget
  • Actively manage inventory days and inventory levels
  • Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of materials documentation
  • Set and maintain the minimum and maximum inventory levels
  • Responsible for taking stock and the accuracy of that information
  • Ensure that the inventory is secure
  • Identify all stock into categories and ensure realtime recording
  • Ensure that all inventory is receipted and issued accurately
  • Actively manage dead stock

WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are reflective of those required to accomplish the essential functions of the job. The working environment includes office, plant production floor, and outside exposed to elements. Physical activity required includes walking and standing approximately seventy percent of the time. Occasional lifting of up to 15kg with some bending, stooping, and climbing required.

Profile:

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • At least 5 years working experience in a Stores/ Warehouse role within a manufacturing environment is essential.
  • Experience in the management of raw materials, inventory and stock control, waste management and stores principles
  • Strong people leadership skills with proven experience of at least 2 to 3 years
  • Strong numerical skills are important as well as a proven ability to plan and organise well
  • Shows a proactive attitude with a focus on finding solutions + strong analytical skills
  • Combines strong technical qualities with an open and enthusiastic communication style (at all levels)
  • Has the ability to analyse current work methodologies and processes, from planning to delivery
  • Understanding of management accounting
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to interact all levels within the organisation as well as external stakeholders (i.e. suppliers)
