Our client, a busy elite upmarket restaurant, bar, lounge, and clubhouse facility, currently has a permanent full-time vacancy for a dynamic individual, who will form part of their restaurant team. We serve upmarket clientele, elite club members, and estate homeowners.

The responsibilities of the job incumbent include:

  • Continuously train staff in all aspects of F&B service and up-selling;
  • Creating a positive working environment;
  • Ensure good relations and communication between FOH and BOH staff;
  • Communicate any specials and menu specials from the kitchen with FOH;
  • Ensure prober bar and wine service to restaurant patrons;
  • Create and maintain daily duty FOH staff schedules;
  • Assist FOH staff if needed in their daily duties;
  • Manage FOH waiters and bar staff;
  • Monitor staff performance, promoting achievements and identifying areas for improvement;
  • Set up and communicate staff rosters and other HRrelated issues;
  • Host all guest, visitor, and club member events in the Restaurant, bar, terrace, and pool area;
  • Order Operational Equipment and staff uniforms;
  • Issues and submit itinerary featuring operation items;
  • Host all group bookings and events to take place in the Restaurant sphere;
  • Ensure that all service areas in the Restaurant are immaculate and report any issues with cleaning or maintenance.

The ideal job incumbent must adhere to the following person specifications:

  • Excellent leadership and people and operations management skills;
  • Presentable with great communications skills with patrons and staff;
  • Problem solver with excellent conflict management skills;
  • Own transport essential;
  • Must have strong character, energetic, and be able to handle pressure;
  • Be open, honest, and trustworthy;
  • Able and willing to work shifts over weekends and public holidays and in peak season over December and January;
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical of service delivery and implementing continuous improvement;
  • Capable of organizing large volumes of work for themselves and others, ably to multitask, work to tight deadlines and produce highquality work and service under pressure;
  • Must be confident in making decisions and know when to seek further inputs or clarification to make a decision;
  • Must be a teamplayer and able to be assertive.

Salary:
R10, R15,000.00 per month
