Your mission:

Your Contribution

  • You and the team will develop a scientifically sound methodology to accurately break down national GHG emission pathways;
  • You will support data acquisition, cleaning and validation for South African socioeconomic, demographic and energy data;
  • You will collaborate with local stakeholders and external clients as well as with local and global experts on emissions modeling.

Your profile:
  • 3-5 years of experience in data and building statistical models;
  • Understanding of South Africa Climate context and data availability;
  • Knowledge of data manipulation of and summarizing spatial (geographically explicit) datasets;
  • Expertise with econometric methods (regression analysis, time series analysis, spatial statistics);
  • Excellent programming experience in R or Python;
  • Experience with GitHub and RMarkdown;
  • Passion for clean code, data science and statistics;
  • Fluency in English;
  • Background in Economics, Climate Science, or related fields.
