Assistant Food and Beverage Manager

As our Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, you are an inspiring, empowering and results-orientated leader with a passion for service excellence whilst maintaining standards and meeting or exceeding financial goals.


While translating the business strategic priorities into F&B divisional strategy, goals & objectives, you will assist the F&B Manager in overseeing the Restaurant Operation, which includes all restaurant, beverage, room service and conferencing & events operations.


Of course, part of your role will be delighting our guests by offering trendsetting and innovative products and outstanding service experiences, managing the F&B budget, and achieving operational profitability by driving sales targets and managing costs.


Planning food and beverage menu offerings, promotions, and events and setting and maintaining food and beverage service standards will form part of your duties.

Aside from ensuring staff are trained and can offer world-class service to our guests, you will also lead a large team of people, encouraging teamwork and personal accountability and promoting staff engagement and retention.

Managing staff processes, such as personal presentation, recruitment, performance and conduct, will form part of your responsibilities.


Along with your
Matric Certificate, you have a
relevant tertiary qualification from a recognised South African or International Educational Institution as well as
Cape Wine Academy, WSET or Cocktail Bar courses.

You have a minimum of
- 5 years' experience in a similar role in a busy, high-demand environment with validated experience in a
leadership role.


You have a strong
F&B operational background with experience (budgeting & expense control, workforce planning & rostering, trainee coordination & management, stock monitoring, IR, recruitment & selection, supplier management, daily administration, hygiene & pest control, restaurant management, etc.) at senior level.

You are a dynamic individual with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach. We're looking for someone decisive, innovative, and devoted to quality. You should be client-focused, with a keen market orientation and solid financial & business acumen.

Your exceptional knowledge of food and beverages, including cocktails, wines, and spirits, should match your strategic insight and robust planning and implementation skills.

This role requires your own transport and proficiency in technology, including using MICROS/speed point machines and MS 365.
