IT Technician

The role of a Technician is to diagnose, repair and maintain hardware, network and software components, to build and maintain updated and efficient computer systems and networks to optimize the role of technology on the business.

• Setting up workstations, computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
• Modify configurations, utilities, software, etc.
• Performing troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
• Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
• Keep systems up to date through operating systems/software upgrades
• Provide helpdesk support for network issues
• Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
• Managing technical documentation (records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance etc.)
• Identify computer or network equipment shortages

• IT Asset Management
• Creating and maintaining Diagnostic guides
• Actively monitoring security tools
• Providing IT support for the entire business (Moonspin and WHG)
• Ensure repaired stock is tested before deployment
• Ensure faulty stock is booked in for repairs
• Ensuring onboarding and offboarding are conducted in a professional manner
• CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Net+, or other related certification.
• Uptodate knowledge of new systems, information, software, hardware and upgrades
• Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Extensive knowledge of Windows and MAC OS
• Must be able to troubleshoot independently
• Perform any ad hoc duties as assigned by manager
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift equipment Previous IT Technician or IT support experience is essential
