Apprentice Boilermaker

Summary of Duties
The Boiler Maker is responsible for fabrication of pipelines, equipment, machines, and structural steel components as required.

In addition, they are tasked with testing of assembled equipment, fixing broken down machines, and maintenance of pipes among other things.

Detailed work activities

General

• Ensure completion of all tasks allocated to you within the specified timelines.
• Ensure that you are trained and skilled to perform all tasks assigned to you.
• Ensure that you work safely and that others are safe around you.
• Ensure to always wear the correct PPE when working.
• Always comply with policies and procedures given to you.
• Any deviations from the procedure are to be reported to your manager and recorded on a deviation form.
• Always comply with ISO standards that apply.
• Perform any other duties as instructed by your manager.

Operations

• Conduct routine maintenance work.
• Fabricate variety of equipment as required by management.
• Carry out general boiler making duties including welding, cutting, and grinding.
• Conduct quality checks on fabricated equipment
• Install fabricated components and equipment as directed by your manager.
• Ensure the maintenance of pipelines by conducting routine and preventative maintenance.
• Complete, coordinate, and prioritize all aspects of maintenance work, projects, new equipment installation, upgrades, equipment repairs and rebuilds, plant remodels, expansions and rebuilds, preventative, routine, and predictive maintenance.
• Perform any other project work as assigned by your manager.
• Ensure to attend to broken down machines timeously.
