Company Overview:
STELO is a projects, operations, and maintenance company specializing in the establishment of new mines. We are in search of a dedicated and experienced Operations and Maintenance Manager to supervise the operational and maintenance tasks for the start-up and escalation of a lithium spodumene project.

Job Description:

Role Overview:As the Operations and Maintenance Manager, your main responsibility will be to guarantee the seamless and effective initiation, launch, and escalation of operations at the lithium processing plant in West Africa. Your key duties will include overseeing daily operations, enhancing plant performance, coordinating maintenance activities, and leading a team of skilled professionals to maximize efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management:
    • Supervise all operational activities at the lithium processing plant, placing emphasis on crushing and grinding, flotation, and dewatering processes.
    • Establish and execute operational procedures and protocols to boost plant efficiency and productivity in these targeted areas.
    • Monitor process parameters and performance metrics to pinpoint areas for enhancement and implement necessary corrective actions.
    • Verify product quality meets standards through effective metallurgical practices.
  • Maintenance Oversight:
    • Create and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for equipment utilized in dense media separation, flotation, crushing and grinding, and dewatering processes to reduce downtime and ensure reliable plant operation.
    • Coordinate with maintenance teams to plan and prioritize equipment inspections, repairs, and enhancements in these specific areas.
    • Forecast spare parts and maintenance supply needs for equipment and help in maintaining adequate inventory levels.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Offer leadership and guidance to operations and maintenance teams, particularly in specialized areas such as dense media separation, flotation, crushing and grinding, and dewatering.
    • Cultivate a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement among team members.
    • Conduct regular performance assessments, provide coaching and training as required, and identify opportunities for skills development in these specialized areas.
  • Budget and Resource Management:
    • Develop and manage budgets for operations and maintenance activities, including expenses related to dense media separation, flotation, crushing and grinding, and dewatering processes.
    • Optimize resource allocation, including workforce, equipment, and materials, to fulfill production goals and operational needs in these specialized areas.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Compliance:
    • Guarantee adherence to all applicable regulatory requirements, encompassing safety, environmental, and operational standards, especially concerning dense media separation, flotation, crushing and grinding, and dewatering processes.
    • Collaborate with regulatory entities and internal stakeholders to uphold necessary permits and licenses for operations in these targeted areas.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; preference for an advanced degree.
  • Have a minimum of 15 years of experience in operations and maintenance management, ideally in the mining or mineral processing sector, focusing on dense media separation, flotation, crushing and grinding, and dewatering processes.
  • Possess strong technical expertise in lithium processing plant operations and maintenance procedures, particularly in dense media separation, flotation, crushing and grinding, and dewatering processes.
  • Demonstrate proven leadership capabilities to inspire and nurture teams, particularly in specialized areas like dense media separation, flotation, crushing and grinding, and dewatering.
  • Exhibit excellent communication, problems-solving, and decision-making skills, managing and prioritizing tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Be familiar with regulatory standards and safety protocols in the mining industry, especially pertaining to dense media separation, flotation, crushing and grinding, and dewatering processes.
  • Show proficiency in relevant software and tools for plant monitoring and maintenance management, with a focus on optimizing dense media separation, flotation, crushing and grinding, and dewatering processes.
  • French proficiency is advantageous
  • Very good health

Conditions
