Based in Cape Town and Reporting to the Drawing Office Manager, this position will involve, but not be limited to the following
responsibilities:
Create Arrangement and Detail Drawings, in 2D or 3D


Model and Create Arrangement Drawings of equipment and plants to the required standard and specification, based on information received from the Design Department and / or Project Leader; including the generation of certain conceptual drawings prior to draughting details drawings.

Publish 3D model for design review.

Generate 2D general arrangement drawings from the 3D model.

Compile manufacturing detail drawings and parts lists.

Compile accurate material take-offs.

Prepare drawings for checking, squad checking and issue; per Project requirements.

Compile As-built documentation.

Ensure that drawings comply with all relevant project standards and/or ruling statutory authority applicable to assigned projects.

Ensure that all CAD files produced strictly comply with necessary ADP Group, Draughting and CAD project procedures.


Ensure that all files produced strictly comply with the ADP group defined and project CAD procedures, and are uploaded to the relevant folders in the Document Management System.

Comply with all Company policies, procedures and instructions.

You will possess:

Tertiary qualification in Engineering Design Drafting on at least N3 level, or

Qualification in Multi-Disciplinary Drawing Office Practice advantageous

5+ years' relevant experience post graduating.

10+ years' proven experience in a similar role with relevant industry experience.

Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work effectively with mínimal supervision whilst consistently producing a high quality of deliverables.

Demonstrate proficiency with the Microsoft suite of software packages, including Word, Excel, Access and Power Point.


Demonstrate ability to and/or proficiency in the use of specific proprietary software packages relevant to the Design & Drafting discipline.


Working knowledge of software's in the Autodesk AEC suite would be advantageous - AutoCAD 2d & 3D, Plant 3D, Advance Steel, Civil 3D etc.

Technical background with a broad multi-disciplinary base, preferably in minerals processing plants / infrastructure construction.

Ability to achieve budget manhours and milestone deliverable dates.

Well-developed written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrate the ability to work efficiently in a team and knowledge sharing environment.

Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and a practical approach to solving engineering problems.

Demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development.
