Medical Receptionist

Our client, a busy surgical practice, based at Panorama Mediclinic seeks to appoint a Medical Receptionist to assist with frontline and various practice administration functions.

A minimum of 2 years experience in a medical practice environment is essential. Our client seeks a fully bilingual applicant (both Afrikaans and English)

Requirements:

  • Grade 1
  • Minimum of 2 years experience within a medical administration environment.
  • Previous experience on Vericlaim will be advantageous.
  • Must be a nonsmoker (nonnegotiable).
  • Must be able to converse in Afrikaans and English.
  • Must be exceptionally well presented.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a warm, friendly and compassionate demeanour.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle all frontline functions of the practice.
  • Responsible for extensive diary management and theatre bookings on the Vericlaim system.
  • Request authorisations and documentation from medical aid.
  • Handle Preop and Postop enquiries from patients.
  • Complete Xray documentation ahead of consultations.
  • Correspond with relevant parties regarding theatre bookings.
  • Scan and file all correspondence relating to patient.
  • Receive blood results, sort and action accordingly.
  • Ensure all documentation is on hand prior to hospital admission.
  • Correspond with relevant parties in connection with theatre bookings and postop support; anesthetists, physiotherapists, Care Experts, Medical Aid Representatives etc.
  • Request quotations as requested.
  • Load patients on the Joint Care site and complete Post-Op reports in conjunction with the Doctor.
  • Printing of MRI reports and process through Vericlaim system.
  • Manage medical consumables and replacements.
  • Manage pettycash.
