Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary duties as DTP will be to prepare and setup jobs for print, including but not limited to:
- Client's artwork for print
- Clothing jobs
- Creation of visuals
Setup Procedures
- All jobs need to be processed from scratch as artwork may differ from a previous similar job.
- Artwork must be cross checked between the job card and the visual ie:
Sizing is correct
Artwork placement is correct
Template setup is correct
Information/details and delivery date are correct and valid
Colours are provided in either the CMYK, Pantone or sample included
Correct substrates are chosen (as per your knowledge) and visual and job card match
- Any queries or concerns with regards to the above needs to be brought to management.
- Job card must be signed on completion of setup.
Setup Checklist
- Test prints are to be done and signed off by the designer setting up, before bulk is printed
- Template must be checked - if using a previous setup, check if it is correct in relation to the new job card
- Pantones, CMYK or samples need to be checked against the artwork and/or samples provided
- Checking procedures must be followed to ensure that:
Nothing has dropped off the artwork
Clipping masks have not opened
There are no banding lines and/or glitches
Text is correct and in place
There is no transparency
Ad Hoc
- General Administration where necessary
- Ensure work station is kept in a clean and tidy condition
- Assist Management when required
- Perform related duties as assigned by management
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
