Technical Trainer

The role will be based in
Worcester at our
Processing Plant and will be reporting into the
Senior Risk Officer.

• Diploma or at least one year certificate in production management/engineering or equivalent qualification.
• 3 years relevant experience in a technical role in a similar environment.
• Must be able to speak / write and understand Ixhosa.
• Must be selfstarter must be able to identify training needs / gaps from meetings / discussions / training material / audits develop materials to address gaps identified.

• Work closely with Management and team leaders to determine, develop and implement technical training initiatives to improve daily productivity and operations and develop the technical skills of all technical (engineering) employees.
• Act as liaison between employees, team leaders, managers and the learning and development team for nontechnical training and development requirements.
• Assess training needs related to new equipment and new technology.
• Provide training and orientation in equipment updates/improvements and amendments to standard operating procedures to management and represented employees.
• Plan and conduct technical orientation training of all new employees.
• Design training aids and prepare appropriate technical material.
• Evaluate the impact of technical training initiatives and compliance with standard operating procedures on a regular basis using accepted criteria.
• Conduct Contractors induction.
• Receive, audit and make approval decisions on Contractors safety files.
• Play a role in ISO 14001, ISO 45001, FSSC 22000 system especially training needs and competence evaluation.
• Develop, implement and maintain detailed training registers.
• Assist with Injury investigations.
• Conduct technical assessments and RPLing of employees.
• Prepare troubleshooting and operating procedures on specialised equipment and technology for appropriate groups of plantbased employees.
• Create and maintain technical training records on all plantbased employees.
• Maintain a complete technical reference library for plantbased staff.
• Produce requisite reports on technical training activity using agreed HR and Processing performance indicators.
