Course description:
How do power and dominance consolidate in urban settings? How do individuals and communities contest this consolidation, and claim spaces and rights in the city? These questions will be taken up through a range of critical approaches, including Indigenous, critical race feminist, political economy, queer, and anarchist perspectives.
Students will have the opportunity to carry out interview-based research on an issue of equality and social justice that matters to them.

MA in related fieldAt least 5 years of experience teaching at the university level
At least 5 years of experience marking undergraduate essays
Evidence of recent teaching effectiveness
Ability to teach online

PhD in related field
Description of duties:
The Sessional Lecturer will develop a detailed syllabus, teach the full course, conduct all grading and prepare and submit all final marks.
In addition, the Sessional Lecturer will hold office hours each week, and answer student questions by email and/or appointment.This job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement. It is understood that some announcements of vacancies are tentative, pending final course determinations and enrolment.
Should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.

Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement rather than the Unit 3 collective agreement, and should not apply for positions posted under the Unit 3 collective agreement.
