The Capitec Foundation would like to employ a full-time Maths Teacher as a learning coordinator for our schools whose core function will be to implement the Capitec Foundation Mathematics learning gap strategy through optimising the use of the computer hub that the Capitec Foundation has installed at various schools.


Requirements:

  • Must be a qualified mathematics educator who can manage the daytoday operation of the project.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills are essential and an ability to adapt to a
changing environment is needed to ensure that the core focus is maintained in

schools where the project is being conducted.

  • A passion for education and community upliftment is needed.
  • Own reliable transport and a drivers' licence is essential as this role involves travel
between schools.

  • This position will suit an individual who can communicate effectively and has the
ability to develop good relationships with schools.

  • In addition, a strong reporting ability and data analysis is needed.

Duties Include:

- be responsible for the provincial learning calendar.
- manage resources and the portfolio of learning programmes and services,
- identifies opportunities for improvement.
- conducts quality assurance of learning programmes and services.
- report on school activities within the CF programmes
- function as the liaison between CF and the school
- manages suppliers.
- conduct on-site checks.
- manage a team of Hub Teachers
- tracks and reports on operational performance and interacts regularly with digital

systems.
- coordination of hub assistants/ teachers
- regular communication and coordination with teachers, and school

leadership
- monitoring of and reporting on programme attendance
- chairing COP's and meetings at schools

- site visits/attendance/management of:

- hub sessions
- schools
- completing QA checklists and reporting on findings
- coordinating logistics with schools, ground staff, teachers, and caterers
- maintaining relationships with all stakeholders
- attendance at and help with parent info sessions.
- collection and relaying of quantitative and qualitative feedback about programme

implementation, quality, and efficacy

  • Report weekly on attendance, usage, risks, issues identified, areas for improvement.
- selection and moderation of suitable digital curriculum-aligned Maths activities to be

assigned to learners on the online platform.

  • Host quarterly checks with School Leadership and Teachers that are on a CF
programme to track implementation of learning and skills obtained.

  • Biannual checks with Alumni to ensure maintenance of skills applied.
  • Key responsibility of all LOP's is to ensure sustainability of whole school approach at
CF schools.

Further Requirements:

Education:

  • B.Ed degree specialising in mathematics education
  • English + 1 official SA Language

Experience:

  • Tutoring / Teaching: 2 years (required)
  • Experience working in education in communities Capitec Foundation serves
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of Teams, interactive software, Learning Management platforms

Additional ADHOC duties (as required):

  • Assist with identification of schools to expand programme
  • Attend and report on Teacher Development programmes
  • Assist in recruitment of tutors, mentors and hub assistants
  • Infrastructure setup
  • Be present during site visits
  • Assist with testing of Wi-Fi
  • Operations and coordination/project management experience
  • Good planning and problem solving skills
  • Flexible hours and able to work on Saturdays on occasion
  • Able to travel nationally
  • Passion for teaching and social upliftment
  • Flexible and open to new ways of working
  • Open to continuous professional development
  • Willingness to attend courses and workshops outside working hours for personal and professional development
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation (ideal)

Salary:
R30 000,00 - R35 000,00 per month
