BUYERS ASSISTANT

CAPE TOWN

Retail Industry

Leading Retail Organization seeks a dynamic and suitably qualified / experienced Buyer's Assistant to join their dynamic team and to provide a support function to the Regional Buyer.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

Relevant Diploma / Degree in Procurement / Supply Chain or similar (Ideally)

Minimum - 4 years' experience in a similar role with a leading retail / FMCG organization

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Computer literate

Strong team player

Strong organizational and administration skills

Good negotiating skills

Willing to attend annual Trade Shows, Charity Events and other Company events as and when required

Valid driver's licence

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide a support role to the Regional Buyer by assisting with the following:
Liaising with suppliers on a regular basis and ensure competitive pricing (deals) are maintained

Assist with listing of new lines relevant to Company's market

Assist stores with managing stock days as well as absoletestock for each supplier

Liaising with new suppliers interested in listing with the Company's Franchise Group

Assist with Regional Promotions for new stores and re-launches as and when required

Assist with promotions for the region

Keep track of competitor pricing in the trade and ensure that Company is benefiting from best pricing in the region

Meet with KAM's on a regular basis to obtain insight to Company's position in the market place - plan accordingly to maximize sales

Assist with forecasting of stock

Ability to commute/relocate:
