Specialized Endoscopic Scrub Sister (Registered Nurse)

Our client is searching for a Registered Nurse, Specialized Endoscopic Scrub Sister to join their theater team in a large private hospital.

The role will involve working alongside medical teams during endoscopic procedures, ensuring that the necessary equipment and instruments are sterilized and readily available.


Responsibilities:

  • Providing patient care and counseling
  • Performing weekend and emergency relief duties and related tasks as scheduled
  • Ensuring a safe, clean, and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors
  • Using supplies and equipment in a costeffective manner
  • Collaborating with other hospital departments to deliver highquality patient care
  • Reporting patient carerelated issues to the ward manager
  • Maintaining accurate records consistently
  • Participating in relevant departmental committees
  • Supervising and evaluating the quality of patient care during rounds
  • Communicating with patients and their families about their care, and informing the unit manager of any issues
  • Mentoring and coaching junior staff in the unit
  • Assuming responsibility for assigned theater and cases on a daily basis.
  • Monitoring patients' vital signs and administering medication as needed

Job Requirements:

  • Must be a Registered Nurse, registered with the South African Nursing Council.

Must be in possession of a Diploma in Operating Room Technique:

  • Experience in Nissen Repairs and Bariatric Surgery essential
  • Must be able to do calls
  • Have at least 5 years private hospital experience in Theatre as an Scrub Nurse
  • Flexible in working hours
