Purpose of this role is.

This person will be responsible for assisting with various financial tasks within the accounting department. This role involves handling financial records, processing transactions, reconciliations, reports and providing support to other members of the accounting team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  2. Transaction Processing: Process sales, expenses, journals and other financial documents in an accurate timely manner.
  3. Reconciliation: Assist with bank reconciliations and ensure discrepancies are resolved promptly.
  4. Reporting: Prepare reconciliations and financial reports, summaries, and other documents as required by management.
  5. Support: Provide support to the accounting team by performing administrative tasks.
  6. Communication: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve any financial queries or issues.
  7. Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies.
  8. Assistance: Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and tasks as assigned.
  9. Assurance: Assist with internal and external audits.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education: Matric qualification compulsory. Additional education in accounting or finance is preferred.

Experience: Previous experience in a similar role (Preferably 5 years and more).

Computer Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage Evolution, Sage Intacct) and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.

Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail while handling financial data.

Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills.

Team Player: Ability to work well within a team environment and collaborate with colleagues.

Analytical Skills: Good analytical skills to identify discrepancies and resolve financial issues.
