Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our team.

As an Accounting Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our accounting department with various financial tasks and ensuring accurate and efficient financial operations.

This is a centralized position located at the Cape Quarter in a central office supporting six Boutique Hotels in Cape Town and the surrounding areas.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daytoday accounting tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, invoice processing, and data entry
  • Prepare and reconcile financial statements, reports, and records
  • Conduct routine bookkeeping activities and maintain accurate financial records
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of financial tasks
  • Assist in the preparation of tax documents and support taxrelated activities
  • Perform general administrative duties as needed

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in an accounting or finance role
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAGE)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with financial analysis and reporting
  • Familiarity with hospitality industryspecific accounting regulations (if applicable)
