Overview
Absolute Pets is the leading pet care retailer in South Africa with over 160 stores nationwide.

The Company caters to a high-end customer with premium products for pets ranging from pet food to health & wellness products and accessories.

Absolute Pets is looking for a Location Planner to join their team. The successful will work within the planning team to ensure stock is efficiently allocated to our stores.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize Qliksense, Netstock and Quant systems as well as customer and store feedback to evaluate and set optimal inventory stock levels and planning parameters based on historical demand variations/forecast and desired service levels.
  • Set up appropriate system parameters, profiles, safety stocks, display minimums to achieve store/item in stock goals and objectives
  • Partner with the buyers and demand planner to actively manage inventory levels by increasing and decreasing inventory,
  • Work with buying team and stores to analyze business by door to maximize sales and stock opportunities
  • Analyze historic performance and planned strategies to identify areas of opportunity or risk.
  • Demonstrate detailed understanding of product sales behaviors such as seasonality, trend, price and promotional activity.
  • Ensure the effective utilization of forecasting methods and software tools to deliver and monitor forecast accuracy.
  • Assist in planning strategies for discontinued and redundant stock.
  • Monitor and assess effectiveness of process and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure timely reporting to ensure management remain uptodate on category performance.
  • Identify relevant marketrelated data and competitive intelligence.
  • Analyse sales and profits by square metre and by category
  • Develop and execute macro space plans by store
  • Execute new store and store revamp macro space plans
  • Analyze customer and store feedback and sales data to enhance instore customer experience, adjusting product placements based on customer flow analyses, enhancing instore navigation and layout
  • Track and analyses promotion post mortems and provide recommendations to improve processes for the next activity.
  • Be main point of contact in the planning team for the designated stores
  • Manage sales and inventory plans at subdepartment by store to optimize revenue and turnover
  • Conduct a thorough weekly review of business with the merchant and distribution teams in order to monitor and react to business needs

Requirements:

  • Grade 12/Matric with Mathematics
  • Tertiary Qualification in Retail Management, Business, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain, Mathematics, Statistics or similar field
  • Advantageous
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Planning
  • Computer literate in MS Word, MS Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills (complex formulae, pivot tables, modelling)
  • Highly motivated, energetic, selfstarter who has the ability to be proactive
  • A high degree of numeracy and a detailed and accurate approach to work
  • Able to effectively time manage
