Development Chemist

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must hold a BSc Hons / MSc / PhD Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Sciences or related field
• At least 5 years of experience in a research laboratory setting
• Proficiency in raw materials, formulating techniques, chemical reaction processes, and product performance standards is a must
• Excellent communication skills to interact with internal teams, suppliers, and clients, and deliver technical presentations confidently
• Understanding of working in a customer-centric environment and a proactive approach

Responsibilities of the successful candidate:

• Ensure coordination among departments for product development and launch
• Provide technical insights to sales for proper product selection
• Train and equip technical staff for quality control, testing, and installation of products
• Collaborate with Quality Manager for effective operations and communication
• Offer guidance on new and existing products for compliance with international standards
• Specify materials and techniques for product manufacturing
• Establish and maintain quality control standards
• Manage relationships with suppliers, partners, and technology providers
• Keep updated on technological advancements for product formulation
• Maintain accurate documentation and authorize manufacturing formula changes
• Address non-conformities promptly and implement corrective actions
• Ensure proper training and safety measures for product application
• Provide guidance on product usage to stakeholders
• Handle product performance complaints and suggest R&D improvements
• Monitor costs and optimize profitability
• Ensure user-friendly products for customer satisfaction
• Assist with stock takes and report monthly on activities
