Hatchery Supervisor

• Strive for the lowest possible mortality % by means of egg quality and chick selection.
• Adhere to chick grading procedures thereby ensuring quality chicks and low mortality.
• Adhere to procedures to ensure high levels of Biosecurity, hygiene, health and safety and routine inspections.
• Transfer of eggs from setters to hatchers
• Carry out 10day candling and breakout analysis.
• Doing hatchery daily routine checks
• Record keeping of temperatures throughout hatchery, temperature readings of incubators and equipment in plant room, egg receiving, egg grading, candling, transfer, chick grading, culls, hatch breakouts.
• Receive and grade eggs from farms.

• Good verbal communication, numerical and interpersonal skills.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to cope well while under pressure.
• Willingness to work flexitime, standby, public holidays, weekend duties as required operationally.
• Maintain strict adherence to Biosecurity and other rules.
• Be physically capable of working.
• Be a selfstarter but also a team player.
• Willing to work a continuous operation.
• Driven to achieve results and produce quality products.
• Assertive but approachable
