We have an exciting hybrid opportunity for an Account Manager/Consultant at an award-winning specialist design agency in Johannesburg.

In this role, the Consultant is responsible for managing client accounts, working on a number of client accounts at any one time.

Consultants manage the day-to-day work of brand development, are responsible for all administration, and ensure all jobs are delivered on time, within budget, and of high quality.

Consultant reports to the Senior Consultant or Consultant Director. The Consultant may be required to fulfil other duties from time to time as they arise.

Your primary task in this role is to pitch project ideas, responsibly communicate differences voiced by the client back to the strategy and creative team, ensure any necessary changes are implemented, and project plans are adhered to.


Responsibilities:

General

  • Applies critical thinking across every engagement, brief and output
  • Presents strategy to clients and other departments
  • Presents business, creative, and other work to clients and other departments
  • Takes control of projects and clients, playing an active role in the prioritisation and delivery of all outputs
  • Plans and delivers on annual targets, consistently ensuring everything is done in order to meet these
  • Raises red flags timeously and escalates critical issues (remaining driven, calm, composed and solutions orientated)
  • Thinks and actions with urgency, speed, and precision, driving quick wins that lead to greater longterm impact
  • Ensures all jobs stay on track, including consistent report back to the client and business
  • Responsible for overall management of budgets and delivery of projects. (Measured per project)
  • Ensures overall account revenues are met in alignment with yearly targets. (Forecasting budgets per project)
  • Ensures that all contracts are signed, agreed, delivered upon and updated on an annual basis
  • Delivers work at a consistently Excellent level input, meetings/engagements, presentations, proposals, planning and all other
  • Confirms/ensures the right people are involved at the right times in meetings & conversations
  • Develops thorough (design & brand) industry expertise.
People

  • Support and management of direct reports in terms of daytoday administrative roles and account management
  • Foster teamwork and collaboration
  • Asking questions and staying curios
  • Collaborates and works as a unit with all areas of the business to ensure optimal solutions delivery.
Product

  • Applies critical thinking across every engagement, brief and output
  • Develops broad (design & brand) industry expertise.
Quality Control

  • Process adherence
  • Ensures all work is checked for quality before leaving the offices.
Clients

  • Daytoday client contact and client support
  • Develops a thorough understanding of the client's business and is able to identify gaps and opportunities where the agency can provide optimal solution able to translate our offering into client solutions
  • Build trust and credibility through excellent output and expectation management planning, understanding clients briefs, requirements, their business, asking the right questions
  • Provide support in presenting strategic and creative work strategic input
  • Validate report and tracking of jobs and report back to client on a monthly basis
  • Confirm that the right people are involved at the right times in meetings & conversations
  • Raises red flag timeously and escalate critical issues.
Profit

  • Responsible for drafting proposals, PQs and securing external costs matched to the approved ABC out cost
  • Overall management of budgets and delivery of projects
  • Managing overall account revenues aligned to yearly targets
  • Maintain or improve account profitability
  • Manage jobs through the system to ensure delivery on time, high quality and on budget
  • Alert management of any potential risk/s that may affect profitability
  • Supports financial opportunities and fee negotiations with Senior Consultant
  • Ensure final approval of all proposals, PQs and external costs by Consultant Director
  • Ensures that the contracts are signed, agreed and delivered upon
  • Ensuring time management across all disciplines
  • Supports new business pitches.
Reporting

  • Put together and submit Contact Reports to the client on any new brief and after all meetings
  • Updating internal status documents by the client
  • Update and prepare for all client status meetings
  • Working together with a Senior Consultant on client reporting
  • Reminding of unpaid invoices and budget controls.
Administration

  • All administration
  • Ensure contracts and NDAs are filed and saved on the server
  • Maintain navigation and saving methods on the server
  • Ensure all strategy and creative work is saved on the server
  • Ensure all project management files are saved on the server (Status documents, Contact reports, Client Contracts, Approved PQs or Proposals, POs, Project Plans, SOW etc.)
