  • Ensure that a daily warehouse and export plan is prepared and issued to warehouse staff and management.
  • Conduct a daily planning meeting with the yard and the warehouse to discuss and meet current demands.
  • Report on daily productivity KPI's to staff and management.
  • Report on customer KPI's to clients and Operations Manager.
  • Liaise with clients daily regarding upcoming workload and planning.
  • Ensure that all inbound cargo is putaway ontime and inline with the warehouse plan.
  • Ensure that daily cycle counts are conducted against a cycle count plan in all areas of the warehouse.
  • Perform weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual stock counts in the warehouse and according to the customer's requirements.
  • Ensure that all inbound and outbound cargo is accurately checked and that any damages or discrepancies are immediately reported to the client and Operations Manager.
  • Complete incident reports (for damages, losses, accidents, etc.) and submit to clients and the Operations Manager within the agreed timeframes.
  • Ensure that corrective and preventative measures are implemented for all incidents.
  • Ensure that all receiving and delivery documentation is signed by the relevant people e.g. the driver, the checker and security, and that it is filed for safe keeping.
  • Ensure good housekeeping practices and that the warehouse, canopy, export ramp and offices are clean and neat at all times.
  • Ensure that the Bond Store is controlled in line with the Customs Act and that the necessary documentation is filed and accessible.
  • Ensure that all system procedures are followed when dealing with cargo.
  • Ensure that the correct cargo is packed into the correct containers.
  • Ensure adherence to customs and department of agriculture regulations and procedures.
  • Ensure that all export documentation is completed accurately and timeously for containers packed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • 5 years Supervisory experience within a warehouse and/or export environment with a good knowledge of warehouse and export activities
  • Knowledge of FMCG, wines and exports
  • Knowledge of stock control
  • Understanding of shipping stack dates and deadlines
  • Customer focused
  • Good people skills
  • Strong financial skills
  • Experience in procurement
  • Good Excel and planning skills
  • Knowledge of WMS processes and control
