Refrigeration Technician

My client, a well-known and established company based in Saldanha is looking for a motivated, energetic and dynamic individual to assume the position as Refrigeration Technician.

Requirements and Competencies:

• 7 years post qualification in an Ammonia Refrigeration Plant environment preferably in a FMCG environment
  • 5 years experience on Freon plants
  • Good knowledge of all types of ice and slurry makers and ice distribution systems.
  • Certified to work in ammonia refrigeration plants
  • Familiar with different types of ice plants
  • Working knowledge of slurry plants
  • Must have well established electric knowledge and skills especially on control circuits
  • Must work well in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Must have a working knowledge of planned maintenance systems
  • SA Citizens only
  • Must be Criminal Clear
  • Must be willing to relocate to Saldanha, Langebaan or Vredenburg.

Responsibilities:

• To service, maintain and operate the refrigeration plants with minimum downtime, best cost and optimal energy usage. Fault finding on all refrigeration equipment and systems
• To ensure the safety of all personnel through adherence to safe practices.
• To overhaul compressors, condensers, pumps, valves, HXs
• Construct small and medium size refrigeration plants
• Efficient refrigeration plants operating at optimal levels
• Ice plant manufacturing ice and supplying to users with no delays
• Heat exchangers chilling the water to temperatures at correct flow rates as per setting
• Cold storage rooms are maintaining the required temperatures
• Processing freezers operating according to manufactures specifications
