Operations Supervisor:

Desco is looking for a detail-oriented individual to join our team as the operations supervisor.

The responsibilities of the operations supervisor include supervising employees, reducing operational costs, monitoring their department's compliance with operational policies, and keeping up-to-date with the progress of administrative duties.

To be successful as an operations supervisor, you should be result-oriented with excellent organizational skills. Ultimately, an operations supervisor has excellent leadership, project management, and administrative management skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing inventory needs and undertaking office management and administration.
  • Supervise the work done in the workshop as well as handle logistics, deliveries and collections
  • Coming up with effective strategies to enhance the organization's financial health.
  • Motivating and supervising employees.
  • Evaluating the performance of your assigned employees, delivering positive and/or negative feedback, and addressing any shortcomings.
  • Designing and implementing departmental policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
  • Evaluating and reporting on department metrics to upper management.
  • Developing strategies to improve department metrics and performance.
  • Improving the work environment and operations of your department and the organization as a whole.

Requirements:

  • Completed matric.
  • Additional Qualification in operations management or business management may be advantageous.
  • Proven work experience in the relevant department.
  • Experience in implementing operational processes.
  • Good working knowledge of operational procedures and policies.
  • Strong Logistics handling, Deliveries, Collections, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent leadership and decisionmaking skills.
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills
Forklift operators will need to transport valuable items, requiring diligence and good hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities:

  • Loading, unloading, and receiving warehouse items.
  • Transporting materials to different locations within the facility.
  • Optimizing loads to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Securing loads to the machine before transportation.
  • Inspecting for damages to vehicles.
  • Scheduling vehicles for maintenance and repairs.
  • Operating and managing technical equipment.
  • Identifying workplace safety hazards.
  • Adhering to safety management standards.
  • Adhering to production schedules.

Requirements:

  • Valid forklifting certificate.
  • Excellent handeye coordination.
  • Proficiency in operating technical machinery
  • Good physical condition.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication.

Salary:
Up to R8,000.00 per month
