Used Cooking Oil Collector Sales Rep

Key Responsibilities:

- Sales and Business Development:

  • Identify and target potential clients such as restaurants, food processing plants, and other food service providers.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to secure new accounts.
  • Conduct sales presentations and negotiate contracts.
  • Maintain relationships with existing clients to identify upselling opportunities.

- Collection and Transportation:

  • Visit designated locations to collect used cooking oil according to a predetermined schedule.
  • Safely transport collected oil to recycling or disposal facilities.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of collection containers and vehicles.

- Customer Service:

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients.
  • Address client inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Provide clients with necessary information regarding collection services and schedules.

- Compliance and Safety:

  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent spills and accidents.
  • Comply with environmental regulations related to the collection, transportation, and disposal of used cooking oil.
  • Maintain accurate records of collections and deliveries.

- Maintenance and Reporting:

  • Perform routine checks and maintenance on collection vehicles and equipment.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor.
  • Keep detailed logs of oil volumes collected and destinations for disposal or recycling.

Qualifications:

- Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

- Experience:

  • Previous experience in sales, particularly in the waste management or food service industry, is preferred.
  • Experience with driving commercial vehicles is a plus.

- Skills:

  • Excellent sales, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy containers.
  • Good driving skills and a clean driving record.

- Certifications:

  • Valid driver's license, preferably with a commercial driver's license (CDL).
  • Certifications in hazardous materials handling or environmental safety (preferred but not required).

Working Conditions:

  • The role involves both indoor sales work and outdoor collection activities.
  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy containers (up to 20kg).
  • May require early morning or late evening hours to meet collection schedules and client needs.

Salary:

  • Competitive salary with commission based on sales performance.
