Safair Operations, operating as FlySafair has a vacancy for an OHSE & FRMP Officer at our head office in

Bonaero Park.

The successful applicant will report to the Manager:
Aviation Safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and conduct departmental safety, and fatigue audits for operations to ensure compliance with applicable laws and to promote good governance;
  • Develop programs that are aimed at improving the workplace for employees, along with coworkers, public, and other stakeholders;
  • Plan for the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety policy and procedures in compliance with related laws and regulations and ensure respective OHSE programmes and interventions remain effective;
  • Develop, maintain and improve environmental management programmes;
  • Provide monthly and quarterly reports on governance, risk and compliance practices and escalate unresolved issues via appropriate channels for investigation and resolution;
  • Collaborate and build longterm relationships with key stakeholders;
  • Regular interactions with all HODs on all quality, safety, health, fatigue and environmental issues;
  • Monitor and track the number of incidents and produce reports;
  • Conduct incident investigation as required;
  • Liaise with Labour Inspectors on any labour related, fatigue and OHS issues;
  • Manage the Organizational sites waste management programs;
  • Conduct monthly meetings;
  • Develop and provide Fatigue training as required;
  • Investigate Fatigue reports and statistics to continuously improve Safair's FRMP in flight operations, operations support and technical;
  • Work with SACAA on evolving regulation related to duty periods in aviation;
  • Create fatigue awareness and ensure reporting of fatigue, OHS and environmental risks.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 with University Exemption
  • NOSA (SAMTRAC) and relevant Environmental Management qualification;
  • 35 years' relevant experience in OHS or Fatigue management;
  • Extensive experience in performing audits and report writing;
  • Knowledge of SACAA CATs and CARS in relation to commercial operations;
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook);
  • Valid Drivers' Licence;
  • Valid Covid19 vaccination card.
