What You Can Expect:


To provide HR support to the business, including on-boarding, terminations, IR, performance management, training administration, BBBEE administration and general HR reporting.

To be successful in this role, you should have a good understanding of employee life cycle and solid knowledge of labour legislation.


How You Create Impact:

  • Responsible for all administration related to employee life cycle including new engagements, payroll, employee changes, leave analysis, terminations.
  • Maintain accurate records/documentation associated with your work.
  • Attend to general requests/queries from employees.
  • Coordinate HR deliverables.
  • Ensure guidance in line with HR Policies and Procedures.
  • Provide employees with documents such as confirmation of employment letters, service letters, and UIF documentation.
  • Accurate filing and record keeping systems are maintained.
  • Prepare all documentation/information for Disciplinary Hearings and CCMA cases.
  • Set up internal disciplinary hearings and grievance meetings and take minutes.
  • Ensure that all disciplinary and grievance records are kept in accordance with the Council's policies and procedures.
  • To coordinate health and safety and housekeeping requirements, monitor and report on these, making improvement recommendations and following these through.
  • To develop, administer and refine the staff administration systems based on all HR admin processes, including payroll, staff data and qualitative information and analytics.
  • Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions according to HR objectives
  • BBBEE administration, EE, Skills Development and Procurement administration.
  • Responsible for updating and reporting of various organisation organograms monthly.
  • Facilitate employee engagement focus groups discussions and develop action plans to address focus areas.
  • Organise several events in line with the employee wellness days.
  • Organise induction session for new employees with all department heads.
  • Induct new employees on policies and procedures on the first day of employment.

What Will Make You Stand Out:

  • Bachelor's degree Human Resources Management/Industrial Psychology or any related field.
  • 5years as HR Generalist
  • Minimum of 4 years' employee relations / industrial relations experience
  • Solid knowledge of disciplinary and grievances procedures
  • Solid experience in representing the employer at conciliation, hearings, and arbitration
  • A proven track record in providing sound IR advice/guidance/support to an organisation and its employees
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
