The incumbent will engage in individual and group psychosocial interventions that endorse

and support the holistic development and well-being of students registered in the College of

Humanities, through the provision and facilitation of individual psychotherapy; career,

academic and psychosocial counselling; crisis support and intervention, and the

development and facilitation of life-skills workshops and webinars. The incumbent must be

able to work well under pressure and as part of a team.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Relevant Master's degree in Counselling, Clinical or Educational Psychology*(*qualification must have been completed as part of a professional programme in the
discipline of Psychology and not the discipline of Education)

  • Current registration as an independent practitioner (Psychologist) with the Health
Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). The relevant HPCSA registration number must

  • At least oneyear relevant experience as a psychologist, which may include the internship
year.

  • Experience working with students in a highereducation context will be an advantage.
  • Proficiency in isiZulu will be an advantage.
