Education and Requirements:
years experience as a mechanically skilled draughtsman.

  • Engineering Drafting Courses / Certificate /Diploma /Degree / Trade tests
  • Able to communicate and speak in Afrikaans and English.
  • Software Auto CAD
  • Drawing.
  • Mathematical skills.
  • Computer savvy.
  • Design knowledge.

Job Description:

  • Develop detailed drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies/tools, and controls using computerassisted drafting (CAD) Equipment
  • Coordinate and consult with other workers to design, layout, or detail components and systems to resolve design or related problems.
  • Review and analyze specifications drawings and ideas.
  • Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery using computerassisted equipment.
  • Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies to prevent production problems.
  • Assist drafters to develop structural design products.
  • Check the dimensions of the materials to be used and assign numbers to the materials.
  • Layout and draw schematics, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines.
  • Position construction and comment on drawings.
  • Confer with customer representatives to review schematics and answer questions pertaining to the installation of systems.
  • Draw freehand sketches of designs, trace finished drawings onto designated paper for the reproduction blueprints, and reproduce working drawings.
  • Supervise and train other drafters.
  • Lay out, draw, and reproduce illustrations for reference manuals and technical. publications to describe the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems.
