Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position in the Maintenance department, based at the Wellington Distillery. This position reports to the Engineering Specialist.

Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

  • Efficient operation and control of the coal and methane boilers on a shift basis
  • Facilitate ash removal when required
  • Ensure optimum coal availability and supply to the boilers
  • Perform the required analyses of boiler processes and reporting as required
  • Active participation in departmental TPM activities (Worldclass Manufacturing)
  • Responsible for effective housekeeping in work area
  • Assist in general maintenance and risk control
  • Ensure compliance to SHEQ requirements of the site
  • Ad hoc duties as and when required
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Boiler Operator Certification, preferably from John Thompson
  • At least 1 year Boiler operating experience
  • A relevant technical qualification will be advantageous
  • Ability to work effectively with mínimal supervision
  • Must be in good health and able to cope with physically demanding activities associated with this position
  • Willingness to work long, irregular hours on a rotating shift basis (weekends and public holidays included)
  • Computer literacy would be advantageous
  • Must have own, or access to, a reliable mode of transport to and from the workplace
  • Punctuality and attendance reliability
