The business is looking for a SMT Operator to join the team. If you have experience in the Electronic Manufacturing environment and are passionate about manufacturing, we want to meet you.

This role is responsible for the timeous execution of the manufacturing processes (primarily SMD) and delivery of finished products for the SMD Department.

By effectively placing components and loading the machines.

The SMD operator will be responsible for ensuring that products are produced and completed efficiently, to the required quality standards in accordance with customer requirements in terms of both specification, timeframes and costs.

Responsibilities of the job include:

• Receipt into factory of all purchased customer SMD kits for production.
• Receipt into factory and accurate and timeous checking of all customer supplied SMD kits for production.
• Careful use of all customer owned stencils.
• Implementation of SMD production schedules to ensure maximum efficiency as per the SMD Supervisor production plan.
• Management of staff overtime and swap time to ensure maximum efficiency in.
• Maintaining and adhering to quality control and testing standards / policies at all times in terms of the latest quality and testing guidelines.
• Utilizing of all factory consumables in a cost effective manner.
• Ensure at all times that factory housekeeping is in line with quality guidelines.
• Accountability to report if repair, calibration and routine maintenance of all production equipment if picked up that it is needed.
• Effective and timeous liaison and communication and problem resolution where appropriate with all stakeholders, including sales and customer relationship management, procurement, stores, finance, quality control and human resources as appropriate.
