Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Efficient "start to end" claims handling including data entry and quoting assessment.
  • Assessing and validating claim information, including reviewing documentation and conducting investigations to determine coverage and liability.
  • Engaging with the company's Service Providers to collate the correct information to complete Insurance Claims reports and submit for approval.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation throughout the claims process.
  • Identifying and escalating potential fraudulent activities or discrepancies for further investigation.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and company guidelines and procedures.
  • Communicating with policyholders, Insurance partners and Pros to manage a claim to completion.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of claims processes and customer experience through feedback and innovative solutions.
  • Provide friendly and outstanding customer service
  • Respond to enquiries in a timely and efficient manner
  • Work efficiently in a multilingual and multicultural team
  • Participating in training and development opportunities to enhance industry knowledge and professional skills.

Key Competencies

  • Knowledge of the function, process and systems of Insurance.


Excellent communication skills
  • Both written and verbal.
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline driven environment, handling more than one project (claim)at a time.
  • Previous experience in a similar environment is essential.
  • Feel comfortable with a level of ambiguity and an unstructured environment, agile by nature and be comfortable with things changing quickly and often.
  • Passionate about people and bringing out the best in them.
  • Able to create structure in ambiguous situations and design effective processes.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential Skills / Experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in claims handling, specifically in home insurance.
  • Knowledge of the South African insurance market, regulations, and industry trends.
  • Strong analytical, problemsolving, and decisionmaking skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize with customers and provide clear explanations.
  • Detailoriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (preferred, but not essential) and experience with claims management software.
  • A commitment to providing excellent customer service and upholding the company values and mission.
  • Relevant insurance qualifications are highly desirable.
