Responsibilities

  • Do activity based budget calculations and other financial forecasts.
  • Understand accounting records and add value through management reporting.
  • Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
  • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities and drive implementation of processes.
  • Drive automation projects through internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Actuarial, Management Information Systems and Project Office teams.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years or more working experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst. Some Finance experience will be advantageous but is not a requirement.
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages, data warehouses and databases.
  • Strong SQL, SSRS, SSIS experience would be advantageous.
  • Strong Data Visualization knowledge in Data Visualisation tools eg (Power BI, QlikSense, etc) would be advantageous.
  • Strong experience working with Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Problemsolving aptitude.
  • Analytical mind and business acumen.
  • Adept at responding to queries, report writing and presenting findings.
  • B.Com Finance, B.Com Accounting, BSC in Computer Science or related will be considered.

Salary:
R17,000.00 per month
