Junior Bookkeeper

Summary
The successful applicant will demonstrate a proactive, detail-oriented approach and should possess excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work effectively within a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaising with clients in the assigned portfolio
- Processing cashbook and bank reconciliations
- Overseeing creditor processing and reconciliations
- Processing monthend journal entries
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts
- Maintaining fixed asset registers and handling related accounting tasks such as acquisitions, disposals, and annual depreciation
- Conducting intercompany accounting and reconciling
- Preparing management accounts
- Administering the full payroll function, including EMP201 and 501 submissions with assistance
- Reconciling VAT and submitting SARS returns
- Electronically filing financial records
- Updating internal workflow management system (Pixie)
- Assisting with other financerelated tasks as requested

Qualifications:
- Diploma/Certificate in Bookkeeping
Business Skills/Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience
- Experience working in an accounting firm is preferred
Industry Skills/Experience:
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero and Sage Business Online
- Proficiency in payroll software, with experience in Simple Pay preferred
- Proficiency in SARS eFiling
