Environment:

Financial institution has an urgent need for an Information Security Officer to take on the responsibility of ensuring that information security and IT related risks are controlled by monitoring information security systems, policy development, IT risk management, implementation and enforcement of security controls.


Purpose of the role**:

  • Define and establish Security Organisation and Security Infrastructure
  • Identify and implement mitigating control measures which cut across all areas where information is created, processed, transmitted and archived.
  • Develop and maintain information security policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Assess internal / external Audit security observations with supporting details of corrective actions, mitigating factors and preventative measures as appropriate.
  • Monitor compliance with information security policies, procedures and standards.
  • Approve firewall changes and remote access requests.
  • Lead the Management Security Forum and the Incident Response Team.
  • Ensure continuity threats and vulnerabilities are assessed on a regular basis.
  • Keep abreast of latest security and privacy legislation, regulations, security alerts, threats and vulnerabilities.

Qualificatio
ns and Experience Required:

  • Relevant 3year degree or diploma
  • Certified in one of the following: CISSP, CISO, CISM, CISA
  • Minimum of 3 years information security experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in systems and network security
  • Extensive Knowledge of Information Security in line with ISO/COBIT.
  • Knowledge of Global Security Standards and best practices insofar as Information systems and technology is concerned.
  • Knowledge of financial and ERP Systems would be a great advantage.
