Role Purpose


This role forms part of a team of experienced ALM practitioners, dynamic hedging specialists, programmers and actuaries in a fast-paced, innovative and delivery-orientated function.

The position will be the technical ALM product manager for With Profit Annuities and have co-responsibility for the ongoing implementation of the ALM System on AWS.


Requirements:

Minimum requirements:

  • Qualified actuary
  • At least 5 years' work experience, with a strong focus on actuarial modelling or programming experience in a life insurance context
  • Expertise in Python, SQL, PowerBI and Amazon Web Services, or other similar programming languages and platforms
  • Top quartile performer with exceptional academic results.

Advantageous criteria:

  • Experience in Discretionary Participating business and/or products with embedded investment guarantees;
  • Experience in a Dynamic Hedging, Life Insurance ALM, Stochastic Modelling, or Corporate Actuarial context would be advantageous;
  • An understanding of quantitative finance, including asset pricing models adopted in the valuation of financial derivatives would be advantageous.

Duties & Responsibilities
Be responsible for monitoring and ensuring that dynamically hedged client asset portfolios are managed in accordance with product design needs, and to support stakeholder needs in this regard;

  • More generally, have coresponsibility alongside other experienced specialists for the ongoing technical implementation of AWSbased systems and processes that supports Momentum Metropolitan's ALM system and dynamic hedging platforms across the balance sheet;
  • Contribute towards a range of wider functional deliverables of the ALM function, such as the integrated Risk Appetite modelling, Liability Driven Investment mandate optimisation, ALM risk adjusted performance monitoring, real world and risk neutral ESG calibrations, nonhedgeable risk pricing, market risk transfer processes, product design support to centres of excellence, and executive stakeholder reporting;
  • Drive and support effective teamwork within the department;
  • Engage in appropriate training interventions to promote own professional development;
  • Ensure to demonstrate the company's values on a daily basis.
