WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR


Main purpose of the position is to create an added value for Rheinmetall Denel Munition by professionally delivering projects on-schedule, within budget and to the full satisfaction of customers and stakeholders.


Responsibility to effectively and efficiently manage all project management for all customer order contracts and capex projects of Rheinmetall Denel Munition.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the Project Management team responsible for all customer order contracts and capex projects within the organization.
  • Ensure sales pipeline is managed to ensure that quotations and contracts is accordance with the plant capacities. The ability to efficiently coordinate projects cross functional within the company is a must.
  • Ensure that capex projects are completed within designated timeframes and budgets and to specification.
  • Driving decisionmaking and identifying innovative solutions to ensure that all projects move forward as planned, minimising delays and setbacks.
  • Effectively managing risks to the projects.
  • Keep major project stakeholders and executive team informed on project progress by timeous and continuous communication.
  • Monitoring and ensuring adherence to legal requirements, policies, procedures and other RDM standards to ensure safe project execution.
  • Ensure compliance to import/export control requirements described by NCACC.
  • Driving the continuous improvement of the Project Management function at RDM to ensure the projects can be initiated, planned, executed, and closedout as successful and efficient as possible.
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Participate and contribute towards the formulation of the strategic business imperatives of the Company as a member of the Executive Team inclusive of the Managing Directors General Managers.
  • Create and monitor personal and overhead budgets in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Foster transformation and employment equity in the department in lieu of the company objectives.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • NQF 7 Business and/or Project Management Qualification or equivalent.
  • Post graduate qualification would be advantageous.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in Project Management.
  • Strong and proven track record of successfully delivered projects.
  • Proven track record of managing, forming and leading a successful and dedicated team.
  • Proven strategic business leader with a track record of concluding complex business transactions.
  • PMP Certification (or similar) will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Projects and/or similar project schedule packages.
  • Knowledge of the Defence Industry is an added advantage.
