WAITER/ WAITRON

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:


The duties and responsibilities of a Waiter/Waitress include welcoming and seating guests, taking guest orders, communicating them effectively to the kitchen and in addition, memorizing the menu and offering recommendations to upsell appetizers, desserts, or drinks.

Able to create the appropriate first impression for members and visitors

Able to open a wine in front of guest and communicate simultaneously with guest if necessary.

Able to professionally present items at the table by knowing which order is to be delivered at which position at the table before approaching said table.

Clearing of Food and Drinks:

Able to identify when clearing is required and to ask the question as to whether guest have concluded their meal as opposed to assuming that clearing needs to happen.

Cleaning as you go:

Able to identify requirements at a table as the waiter passes it. To work smart and clear several tables in one trip.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides immediate attention to all members and guest upon seating
  • To solicit orders from members and guests for food and beverage
  • To receive payment for the order and to provide change required
  • To keep the bar, function areas, tables etc., clean, and tidy at all times.
  • To set up and strip function rooms and to perform any other reasonable task as requested from time to time
  • Assists in closing functions by performing various task such as removing linen, busing glasses, dishes, silverware, etc. and resetting the room
  • Contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Attend staff meetings

CHARACTERISTICS REQUIRED:

Waiters / Waitresses are required to be honest and must maintain a high standard of integrity. They must be customer focused, friendly and diplomatic at all times. They must maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Waiters / Waitresses are required to have previous waitering experience and must be

familiar with the Point-of-Sale system. No Formal Education Required, Physical Strength, Physical

Stamina, Attention to Detail, Ability to Multitask, Written and Verbal Communication, Customer Service

Skills, Interpersonal Communication, Teamwork, Ability to Work Under Pressure, Positive Attitude, Familiarity with Alcohol Restrictions or Laws.

Job Types:

R4, R5,500.00 per month
