A financial firm in George is currently looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to join their team.


Requirements:

  • Proficient in managing books up to trial balance and knowledgeable in Tax matters

Responsibilities:
  • Record Financial Transactions:
    • Accurately input daily financial transactions into accounting software
    • Maintain detailed records of receipts, invoices, and payments
  • Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable:
    • Handle supplier invoices and ensure punctual payments
    • Create customer invoices and follow up on outstanding payments
  • Reconcile Accounts:
    • Compare bank statements with the company's records
    • Identify and resolve any discrepancies promptly
  • Maintain General Ledger:
    • Post journal entries and oversee the general ledger
    • Allocate expenses and income to the correct accounts
  • Prepare Financial Statements:
    • Produce monthly financial reports, such as income statements and balance sheets
    • Assist in generating management reports as needed
  • Assist with Payroll:
    • Document payroll transactions and ensure accurate distribution to relevant accounts
    • Address and resolve payroll inquiries and concerns
  • Support Year-End Processes:
    • Help in compiling documentation for audits
    • Maintain updated financial records for year-end evaluations
  • Maintain Financial Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
    • Keep abreast of relevant financial regulations and standards
  • Trial Balance Preparation:
    • Prepare trial balance reports to verify the accuracy of financial records
    • Rectify any identified errors before finalizing the trial balance

Salary: R15,000 basic
