Responsibilities:

  • Implementing code that can be reused on multiple platforms
  • Breaking down complex issues into smaller manageable tasks
  • Supporting existing and developing new functionality and components
  • Understanding existing product and domain elements and collaborating with business analysts to refine and implement new requirements
  • Refactoring and enhancing the code to maintain the product and make it adaptable to new requirements
  • Working effectively in a team environment and following/developing product software development processes and standards
  • Evaluating and enhancing application performance and high availability features
  • Creating unit and integrated system tests to demonstrate that the developed functionality works as intended
  • Generating technical documentation that explains how the system's various components function and how to utilize them
  • Conducting root cause analysis on bugs to identify and resolve issues in an integrated system
  • Building and deploying the system on an application server
  • Designing and executing functional test scenarios (dev testing)
  • Incorporating the work of other developers and taking necessary actions to ensure the system functions properly with the changes
  • Providing guidance and support to junior developers to ensure they deliver high-quality work within set timeframes
  • Offering technical leadership to the development team and other teams within the company

Requirements:

Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology or Computer/Engineering Sciences and/or a minimum of 10 years relevant experience as a developer as part of a team in a software development environment

Strong knowledge of Microsoft web development toolsets is necessary

2-3 years relevant experience as an Intermediate/Senior developer as part of a team in a software development environment

Solid understanding of the .NET framework and C# language features

Familiarity with the SDLC process, tools, and techniques especially as applied to software development methodology

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience with team development tools such as source control applications (preferably GIT) and UML
  • Understanding of security vulnerabilities (OWASP top 10) and their impact on application solutions
  • Experience in monitoring and optimizing web server and site technical performance
  • Knowledge and experience in developing for accessibility, like the JAWS Screen reader
  • Proficiency in various technologies including ASP.NET, C#.NET, XML, Dot Net 4.7.2, Web/RESTful services, XML and JSON interaction, SQL, SoapUI, Postman, Java Script, TypeScript, CSS, HTML, Angular, XML Schema Definitions
  • Ability to deliver high-quality software by paying attention to detail, conducting thorough unit testing, and supporting quality testing phases
  • Experience in object orientation and composition
  • Knowledge of toolsets like Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, SOAP/REST Services, IBM MQ Series Client interaction
  • Additional knowledge of ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework, Jquery, Web API, Python, YAML is a plus
