About the role:


The Commercial Category Manager Intern is responsible for learning to manage a category within an ecommerce store by working closely with the category managers and the broader commercial and marketing teams.

They will be providing a support function for the category managers so that the growth and margin targets of the department can be achieved.


Specific tasks & projects will be allocated to the intern based on business needs, which may fluctuate over the period of the internship.

However, all efforts will be made to ensure a rounded set of projects that provide exposure to as many elements of category management as possible.


Core duties and responsibilities:

  • Administration and coordination of commercial (growth) strategies within specified categories
  • Taking part in supplier partnership discussions
  • Coordinating online merchandising tasks
  • Assisting with pricing comparisons and admin
  • Coordinating promotional strategies
  • Assist with strategically sourcing new product ranges based on category growth targets and market trends
  • Support the fulfillment of the category margin structure
  • Monitor margin targets on a supplier, brand and sku level.
  • Monitor competitiveness within the market by managing competitor price comparisons.
  • Assist in handling turnover health by monitoring slow moving skus
  • Education and experience required:
  • Degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Ecommerce, Business Management
  • Functional skills:
