To provide excellent customer service by providing on-time delivery and timely and accurate responses to customer queries.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Preparation of job quotations, including coding and pricing, in coordination with relevant Sales Manager.
  • Process and expedite orders with the appropriate internal departments to ensure that the customer receives their complete order by the required date and to specification.
  • Support the external sales team with specific customer account information.
  • Take responsibility for all jobs from enquiry through to delivery and invoicing.
  • Assist accounts department in the collection of cash.
  • Keep customers fully updated on the progress of their order and any changes in expected delivery date.
  • Work closely with Logistics Department to coordinate the full delivery process of the order wrt. dispatch, relevant delivery notes and all other associated administrative tasks.
  • Follow and adhere to the relevant John Crane sales and order processes.
  • Support the sales and technical teams in case of product discrepancies.
  • Maintain a high level of forecast accuracy with monthly planning & reporting.
  • Ensure that the sales budget is achieved through the coordination with the relevant sales manager.
  • Create and maintain the customer/sales data base.
  • Monitor and update all customer price agreements and contracts with the CST Manager.
  • Any other duties as may be reasonably required of you by your manager.
  • Willing to work after hours and on weekends if required.

The Individual

  • Minimum Grade 12, SAQA NQF Level
  • Intermediate MS Office skills.
  • SAP Experience or other ERP system knowledge.
  • Customer management experience
  • Excellent communications skills verbal and written
  • Product knowledge or ability to learn about John Crane product portfolio & product codes.
  • Demonstrable professional experience in sales and/or commercial administration.
  • Ability to work independently daily and be a strong "team player" within a sales/commercial team.
