Mission / Core purpose of the Job

  • Ensure that MTN "owns the Home" to increase revenue and protectexisting revenues through value propositions for Families / Homeowners
  • Strong brand positioning and GotoMarket.
  • Responsible for designing, developing, and building the Residential / Home strategy as well as a solid proposition that appeals to the Home Market Segment.
  • Ensure profitable growth and penetration making use of the ideal technology mix including 4G, 5G, FTTH and alternative technologies.
  • Strategically plan technology rollout in collaboration with the Technology team to increase homes covered and/or homes passed and penetrate adoption with a channel / sales operating mix.
  • The development and implementation of a 24month rolling roadmap to guide business on requirements for Fixed Mobile convergent offers including leveraging Consumer IoT end to end.
Job Outcomes / Results

  • Increase Residential Market Share.
  • Deployment of a successful Fixed Mobile Convergent billing solution which is easy to understand and onboard for new and existing clients with overall revenue growth.
  • Deployment of new and innovative solutions to sell connectivity to dense homeowner areas.
  • Exponentially Increase Residential 5G traffic as a percentage of overall Residential traffic.
  • Migration of 4G / 4G LTE Residential traffic to 5G.
  • Positioning of MTN as a key Internet Service Provider for Residential connectivity and entertainment solutions.
Key Activities & Responsibilities

Strategy Development

  • Design, develop and drive the implementation of the Residential / Home strategy for MTN SA, enabling the business to drive revenue targets as set and increase the necessary pipeline conversions.
  • Provide input into the sales business strategy to support the Consumer business (and Connected Employee and SME segments to a lessor degree) in line with the overarching business goals and ensure that MTN maintains and improves its leadership positioning as well as ensuring that MTN becomes a key consideration in our aim of
owning the home.

  • Ensure effective implementation of the strategy by means of providing direction, structure, frameworks, models, plans and roadmaps, aligned to group strategy and frameworks.
  • Define the standards and set targets for performance across various activities and identify the parameters for measurement of performance.
  • Provide input for the product life cycle and management strategy, in line with overall strategy.
  • Strategically partner with MTN SA affiliates to penetrate the Residential segment.
Operational Delivery

  • Drive the revenue targets as per the business plans and set targets
  • Ensure the implementation of aggressive and robust price plans and propositions to increase profitability on the portfolio and to consolidate family and home accounts.
  • Provide the framework and guidance for competitive and relevant product plans to be designed in line with approved business plan.
  • Ensure MTN is top of mind for Home Internet connectivity and leverage Content Partnership deals from Consumer Digital Services to deliver differentiation.
  • Responsible for building market and revenue share through a robust and competitive plan acquiring, upselling, uplifting and cross selling.
  • Drive the delivery of a customer centric MTN App experience for Residential customers for setup and management of Home connectivity.
  • Investigate, review and implement innovative differentiating features/services for residential customers to set us apart from the rest of the Internet Service Providers just providing connectivity.
Education, Skills and Experience

Education

  • Minimum of 4 years in Commercial/Marketing/Business Degree
Experience

Minimum 10 years experience including:

  • Senior management track record of 5 years or more, with at least 3 years in relevant sector/industry in a strategic commercial or marketing role.
  • Telecommunications industry experience is a requirement
  • Experience in leading P&L portfolio/s and a deep understanding of developing customer centric products
  • 3 years relevant digital products development experience
  • Experience in continuous improvement through the implementation of best practices
  • Experience in planning and forecasting leading practices and trends. Experience working in a global/multinational enterprise with a good understanding of emerging Markets
Skills

  • Highly developed analytical skills with high level of knowledge in statistics
  • Expert level Tech, data analytics, & platform skills.
  • Deep understanding of the consumer ecosystem, players, business models and industry best practices, with experience working in a digital environment.
  • Deep knowledge/understanding of Pricing
  • Deep social media awareness & digitally savvy.
  • Display strong leadership, team building and delegation skills with ability to coach, mentor, manage and grow other senior professionals.
  • Track record of developing a communication strategy, building relationships across tea
