Finance Internship

Job Function
Finance Intern, a 12-month internship exists within our clients Finance Department based in Cape Town.

For this period the incumbent will form part of the Finance team and will assist with various generalist finance responsibilities.

• Bank statements reconciliation, as well as accounts payable and receivable
• Provide full administrative support to the finance department.
• Assist with balance sheet recons and journals.
• Prepare various payments and ensure it has the correct approval.
• Assist with petty cash register.
• Assist with stationery requisitions Office and site.
• Data capturing and accurate record keeping, including capturing invoices, and filing.
• Ad hoc duties
• Data entry, recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records.
• Daily capturing and monthly reconciliation of all intercompany transactions. All queries to be resolved before month end.
• Updating financial records via xero accounting software
• Perform General Ledger Reconciliations and followup on reconciling items.
• Preparing and submitting weekly and monthly financial reports
• To manage, improve and develop relationships with internal & external stakeholders.
• To manage to General administration within the Finance department.

Requirements:

Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

• Completed NQF Diploma in accounting
• 01 years' experience
• Xero experience (advantageous)
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Confident, enthusiastic, and selfmotivated
• Delivering Results and Meeting Customer Expectations
• Coping with pressure and setbacks
• Team Player
