We have a compelling opportunity in Johannesburg's East Rand for a gracious, Mid-Senior Marketing Development Manager at a national wholesale company operating in the décor hardware sector.

The company proudly boasts a range of the sector's leading brands and products.

The Marketing Development Manager will report to the Head of Marketing and is responsible for the development, expansion, and maintenance of the company's markets in the retail and design space.

You will drive this along with a view to preserving the company's existing market share and the expansion and development of that market share across all brands and regions.

We're looking for a true relationship-builder for this exciting role. As such, it is vital that you have the capacity, potential and skill to grow and nurture strong relationships.

You will be required to meet reasonably regularly with the Head of Marketing, The Projects Manager and Regional Branch Managers to ensure that the approach to markets is consistent, is making provision for regional differences, and enhances the contribution being made by other members of the team.


Responsibilities:

  • Management of the brands' Consultants around the country
  • Management of brand representatives around the country
  • Monthly checking of Consultants and Representatives credit card recons
  • Equipping and training of all the above
  • The management of the various brands' Warranty programmes including public relations responses, technical support, and training elements. Oversight and management of the Technical Manager
  • Managing the Leads Protector. Preparing and distributing regional monthly reports regarding these activities to branch managers and brand consultants
  • The management and oversight of the company's involvement in all trade shows including DECOREX
  • In consultation with the Head of Marketing to conceptualise and oversee the design, costing, building, functioning and operation of the company's branded show stands
  • Manage the Marketing stock and the marketing materials controller
  • Manage the planning and ordering of all marketing materials used by the company
  • Manage the kitchen and interior designer development and incentive programmes
  • Manage the assessment, authorisation, and budget control of branded display slabs for showrooms
  • Manage the relationship between the company and its relevant Specialists Association
  • Management of the budgetary elements of the areas under his/her management.

  • The ability to build a strong team spirit and provide motivational leadership to ensure that the team always functions at its optimum potential
  • The capacity to maintain reasonable levels of discipline
