Millwright Trade qualification will be advantageous.

Job description / core competencies:

  • Good understanding of electric circuits and ability to read electrical drawings.
  • Understanding of the relationship between electric current and magnetic fields and their relevance to the workings of an electric motor.
  • Basic knowledge of IP ratings and sealing arrangements.
  • Knowledge of how to use a multimeter to take voltage, resistance and current readings and calculate power and diagnose problems.
  • Knowledge on how to use a power analyses machine to determine problems on site.
  • Consult with more experienced colleagues on failure analysis and obtain experience on fault finding and diagnosis.
  • Occasionally need to check returned motors from workshop or branches and determine if they are in a sealable condition to be returned to stock.
  • Build up technical knowledge to provide telephonic and site technical support.

Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Qualifications:
Grade 12 (Matric)/N3 (with Maths and Science). Trade qualification advantageous - Millwright.

Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience with electric motors.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of gearboxes will be advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Exceptional customer services and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to read manufacturing drawings and circuit diagrams.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must be familiar with workshop environment.
