Function as a brand ambassador for Xylem's Lifecycle Service Department.

The person is required to contribute to the Lifecycle Service Departments performance and sustainability by engaging energetically in the following tasks.

The list is not exhaustive and may be amended from time to time.

  • Conduct site audits which include but is not limited to.
  • Installed base mapping.
  • Application mapping
  • Controls assessment
  • Maintenance philosophies
  • Opportunity identification
  • Compile and present maintenance plans
  • Design and execute turnkey solutions.
  • Provide technical training to customers and channel partners.
  • Focused on continuous improvement by consistently looking for ways to improve and promote quality, efficacy, and safety.
  • Facilitate and perform commission on all Xylem products.
  • Assist customers with advanced faultfinding, in person and remotely.
  • Conduct onsite servicing and repairs.
  • Assist in onsite warranty determination.

Requirements:

  • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent. Continued education is preferred, but not required.
  • Physical condition required to pass a mining medical.
  • 10 years related experience working in the field of water projects and products.
  • Working knowledge in water/wastewater processes, including pumping and various treatment equipment.
  • Treatment focus around disinfection (UV, Ozone), aeration, and filtration.
  • Thorough understanding of systems troubleshooting and the benefits of establishing solid service practices for the operating and fiscal benefit of the company, distribution, and the enduser.
  • Strong customer focus and interaction to ensure optimum relationships.
  • Must have experience with electrical control panels, VFD's, PLCs, SCADA systems and other electronic systems and instrumentation.
  • Must have proactive EHS focus in and around company and customer worksites, as well as on travel to and from.
  • Strong leadership, supervisory, prioritization and communication skills (written and verbal) are necessary to help define, develop and enforce initiatives.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, & Salesforce.
  • Proficiency in French and/or Arabic would be beneficial.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical qualifications in both mechanical and electrical disciplines (Millwright)
  • Safety and CPR certification a plus

Physical Demands:

  • Be able to stand on feet for a prolonged amount of time.
  • May need to bend, lift, carry, and stretch to perform duties.
  • Continually required to use hands and fingers and reach with arms.
  • Frequently required to lift, up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to perform work underground.

Work Environment:

  • Work requires ability to work underground in various mining sectors, outdoors in various weather, traffic, and environmental conditions.
  • Up to 50% travel on the African continent
